Provost's Welcome
I am delighted to welcome you to Renfrewshire and to the Glynhill Ladies International Curling Competition. I know that the organisers are working hard to ensure that this year's event is even better than previous years. Renfrewshire has a long history in curling and still today the Renfrewshire Province of the RCCC is the second largest in Scotland. It is an honour for so many teams to be in Renfrewshire as this is the last curling championship tour event before the Olympic World Games. The excellent facilities at Braehead and Greenacres provide our curlers with great opportunities to enjoy their sport and the friendships it generates, but there is much more to Renfrewshire than curling. I hope that you will have the chance to explore our heritage and landscape, see something of Paisley Abbey, the site of the first recorded curling match, and get a breath of fresh air at Castle Semple or Gleniffer Braes. You could even go skiing at Xscape just next door to Braehead, no matter what the temperature.

RCCC Ladies’ Branch
RCCC Ladies’ Branch are delighted to be supporting this now well established event on the International calendar and we feel sure that our involvement will be beneficial to both parties. RCCC Ladies Branch has always been keen to support events which can help develop Scotland’s curling talent. This event gives several Scottish ladies teams the opportunity to compete against some of the worlds top curlers. We are looking forward to being involved with this prestigious curling event.
