Semi-Final Report

The group stages of the competition revealed the form of the teams taking part and so it was no surprise to see the top names that contested the semi final stage of the competition.

The final features teams from the top three of the CCT and it promises to be a close encounter.

Both teams have cruised through through qualifying and have never been troubled at any stage despite the presence of strong opposition.

The well established Swiss team of Ott is likely to use all the experience at their disposal to handle Team Jaggi, their younger compatriots, who have developed over the last year into a disciplined and competitive team.

Ott defeated CCT leaders Sidorova in a tight Semi-Final match that saw the Swiss team take a firm lead in the fourth but allowed the Russian team to claw their way back in to contention with a series of singles. However a last end 2 was enough to ensure a place in the final for Ott.

Team Jaggi however started with a remarkable 6 against fellow Swiss Team Tirinzoni who established a lead that was never going to be lost. Despite losing a 3 at the 4th, Jaggi restored the margin of their lead with a 3 which was sufficient to force a concession and allow Jaggi to progress to the final.
