By Judith McFarlane

The 2009 Glynhill Ladies’ International at Braehead from 16th to 18th January has a star studded entry list.

2008 World Champions from Canada skipped by Jennifer Jones will be competing at Braehead along with World Silver Medallists, Bingyu Wang’s team from China and World Bronze medallists from Switzerland skipped by Mirjam Ott.

The World medallists will be joined by teams from Japan as well as European teams from Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Russia, Austria, the Czech Republic and England.

Of course the home teams will be well represented. Gail Munro will be there to defend the title she won last year. Great Britain’s Olympic ladies squad will be competing in their preparation for Vancouver 2010 along with Anna Sloan, Hannah Fleming, Lauren Gray, Rebecca Kesley and Alice Spence who will represent Great Britain at the European Youth Olympics in Slask Beskidy, Poland in February 2009.
The GB University Team will also be on the ice at Braehead just weeks ahead of travelling to Harbin, China for the 2009 Winter University Games.

The 2009 Glynhill Ladies’ International has attracted world class entries and promises a weekend of top competition at Braehead.
