Taking place just a month before the Winter Olympics, the 2010 Glynhill Ladies International will be met with a great deal of speculation. The 8 Olympic teams competing will be in the final stages of their preparation and will be hoping to make their mark before travelling to Vancouver. Eve Muirhead, Jackie Lockhart, Kelly Wood, Lorna Vevers and Karen Addison are representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games and they’ll be looking to take advantage of the ‘home’ ice and support at Braehead. In the round-robin stage, the Great Britain hopefuls will meet Japan’s Olympians, Sweden’s Karin Rudström, last year’s Swiss finalists skipped by Binia Feltscher-Beeli, Shari Leibbrandt’s Dutch team and Gillian Howard’s home team. 12 countries will be represented including Bingyu Wang’s 2009 World Championship team and first time entrants, USA, skipped by the well known Debbie McCormick. The round robin stages will take place from 8am each day, on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th with the concluding knock-out stages on Sunday 17th January. FREE spectator seating and the temptation of home-baking from Braehead’s lady curlers is on offer throughout the event so there are no excuses for not attending! Put the dates in your diary now and come along to see the next best event to the Olympics!
